How To Use
Attach the membrane (A) to the valve (B).
To ensure effective suction, make sure the membrane is:
- Not torn
- Lying flat
Push the valve/membrane assembly (C) into the bottom of the flange (D). Twist the bottle (E) onto the flange.
Place the diaphragm (F) into the top of the flange assembly (H) and snap the diaphragm cap (G) on to flange.
Attach the tubing (I) to diaphragm cap (G).
Attach the other end of the tubing to the tubing adapter (J) and insert the tubing adapter into the port (K) on the side of your pump base (L).
Lift the tab on battery door (A) and insert 6 “AA” batteries (sold separately).

When batteries are low, the far left suction light (C) will blink, but the pump will still be usable for a brief period of time. Eventually, the pump will stop working and the batteries must be replaced.
Before using the AC adapter (A), remove batteries from the pump base.
Plug the AC adapter (A) into the pump base (B), then plug the adapter into a working wall outlet.
Other power option:
- Evenflo Vehicle Adapter (sold separately).
Turn on your pump by pressing the "ON" button (D).
The pump will turn on at the highest speed and lowest suction setting to help stimulate your first letdown (milk release).
When milk starts to flow, decrease speed halfway (A) and increase suction (D) to the highest comfortable setting.
When milk flow slows, increase speed (B) and maintain suction setting. When milk begins to flow again, decrease speed (A) halfway.
Repeat this step for additional letdowns (milk releases).
If you feel pain in your breast or nipple, turn the pump off (see next step) or slide a finger between the flange and your breast to immediately break the suction. If you feel discomfort at every suction level, turn the pump off and contact your healthcare provider for assistance.
When you are finished, decrease suction (C) to the lowest setting. Release button, then press and hold "OFF" button (C) until pump turns off (approximately 1 to 2 seconds).
Pump will automatically shut off after 40 minutes.
Pumping shouldn’t hurt. When pumping is uncomfortable or hurts, it can suppress the amount of milk you are able to express.
To avoid discomfort and help you maximize your own milk expression, your flange must fit correctly.
To find the right fit, place the flange (A) to your breast with your nipple in the exact center.
While pumping, some of all of your nipple rubs against the sides of the breast flange tunnel. Use a larger size.
While pumping, more areola is drawn into the breast flange with your nipple. Your areola may rub against the side of the breast flange tunnel. Use a smaller size.
While pumping, your nipple should move freely in the breast flange tunnel. You should see space around the nipple. A minimal amount of your areola is drawn into the tunnel with the nipple.
Did you know your flange size can change several times throughout your pumping journey? To ensure comfort and to help maintain your milk supply, it’s important to have multiple sizes available.
The AdvancedFit™ Flange System has many different sizes to choose from.
To pump one breast at a time, cap one side of the tubing adapter with the attached cap (A). Connect one tube (B) to the other side.
NOTE: The open side must be completely capped to ensure proper suction.
To pump both breasts at the same time, ensure that both tubes (B) are properly connected to the tubing adapter (A).
Boil all parts (excluding pump unit, AC adapter, tubing, tubing adapter, and diaphragm cap) for 5 minutes to sanitize. Cool completely to room temperature before using. DO NOT BOIL or wash tubing or tubing adapter.
Steam Sanitization Bag. Please follow manufacturer’s instructions when using.
Disassemble flange assembly and rinse to remove milk residue. Hand wash parts in warm soapy water (excluding pump unit, AC adapter, tubing, tubing adapter, and diaphragm cap). Rinse and air dry completely before using. Be careful when washing your membranes to avoid damage. If the membrane appears to be damaged, replace the part before next use. Parts can also be cleaned using Evenflo Bottle Brushes.
Flange assembly is also dishwasher safe, top rack only. Place smaller parts, like valves in a dishwasher basket. We recommend hand washing your membranes as they may be lost in the dishwasher.
Pump unit, AC adapter, tubing, tubing adapter, and diaphragm cap. These parts should be wiped clean, when necessary, with a damp cloth.
NEVER immerse pump unit or AC adapter in water or attempt to sanitize in a microwave oven. Damage to parts and oven may occur.
