How To Use
Attach the membrane (A) to the valve (B).
To ensure effective suction, make sure the membrane is:
- Not torn
- Lying flat
Push the valve/membrane assembly (C) into the bottom of the flange (D). Twist the bottle (E) onto the flange.
Place the diaphragm (F) into the top of the flange assembly (G).
Align the pump unit (H) to the top of the flange assembly (G).
In a downward motion, snap the bottom of the pump unit (H) to the flange assembly (G). You will feel a "click" when the two are secured tightly.
Place the bottle into the stand (I) as shown.
Push the release button (A) to slide the battery drawer (B) out.
Insert 3 “AA” batteries (sold separately) and slide the drawn (B) closed.

Included in the battery drawer (B) is a spare membrane (C).
Before using the AC adapter (A), remove batteries from the battery drawer (B).
Plug AC adapter (A) into the pump unit (C), then plug the adapter into a wall outlet.
Stimulate your letdown (milk release) by hand expressing.
- Relax and think about your baby
- Gently massage your breast
- Apply a warm, damp compress
For best results, hold the pump by the flange (A). Place the flange against your breast with your nipple centered in the flange tunnel. Press gently and allow the breast to completely fill the flange to create a good seal.
Before you begin pumping, make sure you are using the correct flange size. See the “Flange Fit” section for help.
If holding by the pump unit (B), gently press the flange straight against your breast with your nipple centered in the flange tunnel.
- DO NOT scoop your breast into the flange
- DO NOT support the weight of your breast with the pump
This may cause the pump until to disconnect from the flange assembly and not work properly.
Pressing too hard can restrict milk flow in your breast and may break the seal between the pump unit and the flange.
Turn on your pump by turning the control dial (C) clockwise to begin pumping.
Gradually turn the control dial (C) clockwise to the highest comfortable setting.
Turn the control dial (C) counterclockwise.
If you feel pain in your breast or nipple, turn the pump off (see step 4) or slide a finger between the flange and your breast to immediately break the suction.
If you feel discomfort at every suction level, turn the pump off and contact your healthcare provider for assistance.
The diaphragm (D) is moving inside of the flange.
Continue pumping until your milk is no longer flowing or the bottle is full.
Repeat these step with your other breast for additional letdowns (milk releases). You can also massage the first breast again and repeat to help maximize milk expression.
When you are finished, turn the control dial (C) counterclockwise until the pump unit is in the “OFF” position.
Pumping shouldn’t hurt. When pumping is uncomfortable or hurts, it can suppress the amount of milk you are able to express.
To avoid discomfort and help you maximize your own milk expression, your flange must fit correctly.
To find the right fit, place the flange (A) to your breast with your nipple in the exact center
While pumping, some of all of your nipple rubs against the sides of the breast flange tunnel. Use a larger size.
While pumping, more areola is drawn into the breast flange with your nipple. Your areola may rub against the side of the breast flange tunnel. Use a smaller size.
While pumping, your nipple should move freely in the breast flange tunnel. You should see space around the nipple. A minimal amount of your areola is drawn into the tunnel with the nipple.
Did you know your flange size can change several times throughout your pumping journey? To ensure comfort and to help maintain your milk supply, it’s important to have multiple sizes available.
The AdvancedFit™ Flange System has many different sizes to choose from.
Boil all parts (excluding pump unit and AC adapter) for 5 minutes to sanitize. Cool completely to room temperature before using.
Steam Sanitization Bag. Please follow manufacturer’s instructions when using.
Disassemble flange assembly and rinse to remove milk residue. Hand wash parts in warm soapy water (excluding pump unit and AC adapter). Rinse and air dry completely before using. Be careful when washing your membranes to avoid damage. If the membrane appears to be damaged, replace the part before next use. Parts can also be cleaned using Evenflo Bottle Brushes.Dishwasher Safe
Flange assembly is also dishwasher safe, top rack only. Place smaller parts, like valves in a dishwasher basket. We recommend hand washing your membranes as they may be lost in the dishwasher.
Pump unit and AC adapter. These parts should be wiped clean, when necessary, with a damp cloth.
NEVER immerse pump unit or AC adapter in water or attempt to sanitize in a microwave oven. Damage to parts and oven may occur.
